Burn-In Testing Service in Malaysia

TestLabs coordinates burn-in testing for electronic components and products across Malaysia. We review your test method, product limits, sample setup and reporting needs before confirming the scope. Accepted samples are sent to the Penang laboratory, with TestLabs as your point of contact.

Understand the test

What is burn-in testing?

Burn-in testing is an extended operating screen used to help reveal certain early-life or workmanship-related weaknesses in electronic devices. A sample operates for an agreed period under a defined stress profile. Depending on the product and method, this may involve elevated temperature, electrical bias, or operation in a specified mode.

TestLabs reviews the requested method, product limits, sample setup and reporting needs before confirming the scope. If your requirement names a standard or customer procedure, include the exact document, edition, method number and acceptance criteria with your enquiry.

Scope review

Products and test objectives we can review

TestLabs can review burn-in enquiries for electronic products. Final suitability depends on the sample, its operating mode and limits, electrical interfaces, fixture needs and requested method.

Semiconductor devices

Share the device or part type, sample quantity, datasheet, operating limits and any applicable test procedure.

PCB assemblies and modules

Include board or module details, connectors, power requirements, fixture or test-board information and the intended operating mode.

Other electronic products

Automotive, lighting and industrial electronics can be discussed, subject to review of the product and requested test scope.

If your enquiry names a standard or customer procedure, send the exact document, edition, method number and acceptance criteria. Testing to a named standard is not assumed unless the scope has been confirmed.

Burn-In Testing Service FAQ | TestLabs

Burn-In Testing FAQs

What is burn-in testing?

Burn-in is an extended operation of a device under a defined stress profile, often at elevated temperature and, when applicable, with electrical bias. It is used to help screen for early-life or workmanship-related weaknesses. The conditions must suit the device and agreed method; a burn-in pass does not guarantee a specific service life.

What products can be assessed?

We can review enquiries for semiconductor devices, PCB assemblies, electronic modules and other electronic products. Suitability depends on the sample, electrical interfaces, operating mode, fixture needs, product limits and requested method. TestLabs will confirm feasibility before a booking is accepted.

What temperature, voltage and duration are used?

There is no single setting for every device. The proposed temperature, electrical bias or operating mode, duration, sample quantity and acceptance criteria must be agreed against the applicable customer method and product limits. Send the relevant datasheet and test specification with your enquiry.

Can TestLabs test to a customer method or standard?

Share the exact standard or customer procedure, including its edition, method number and acceptance criteria. TestLabs will confirm whether the requested scope can be supported before quoting. Do not assume that a general burn-in enquiry includes compliance to a named standard.

Where do I send samples?

After TestLabs reviews and accepts the scope, samples are sent to the Penang laboratory using the instructions provided for your booking. Please do not ship powered, battery-containing, hazardous or otherwise restricted items until the laboratory has confirmed handling and transport requirements.

Do you support customers outside Penang?

Yes. Burn-in service enquiries are accepted from across Malaysia, with particular focus on Penang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan and Johor. TestLabs coordinates the enquiry; accepted samples are sent to the Penang laboratory.

Does burn-in testing guarantee product reliability or lifetime?

No. Burn-in is a screening method intended to help expose certain early-life or workmanship-related weaknesses under the agreed conditions. It cannot prove that every unit is defect-free or guarantee performance for a specific service life.

What should I include in a quotation request?

Send your product or part type, sample count, dimensions and weight, operating voltage or current and test mode, applicable standard or method and edition, requested conditions and duration, acceptance criteria, fixture or interface details, delivery location, and any special handling or reporting needs. Email sales@testlabs.my.

What results or records are included?

The report, monitoring and data-recording scope must be confirmed before testing. Tell us what information you need, such as the test profile, duration, monitored parameters, event log or result summary, so it can be reviewed with the quotation.

Request a Quotation

Tell TestLabs what you need to test, the method or conditions you have in mind, and where the sample will ship from. We will review the request and confirm the available scope, shipping instructions and quotation before you dispatch your sample.
