The UV lamp weathering test chamber utilizes fluorescent ultraviolet lamps as its light source, precisely controlling temperature and humidity to simulate condensation on test samples. This process effectively replicates the effects of sunlight, humidity, and temperature on polymer materials, leading to aging phenomena such as fading, gloss loss, strength degradation, cracking, peeling, chalking, and oxidation.
The chamber's UV lamps mimic the impact of sunlight, while its condensation and water spray system simulate the effects of rain and dew. Throughout the testing cycle, both irradiation energy and temperature remain adjustable. A standard test cycle typically involves alternating between high-temperature UV exposure and a dark, humid condensation phase with 100% relative humidity. Common applications include paint coatings, the automotive industry, plastic products, wood materials, and adhesives.
